Strukton’s central works council has offered positive advice. To Strukton, this is a logical step in the increased strategic focus on sustainable infrastructure related to railways.
Strukton Immersion Projects is operating worldwide in the market of immersing tunnel elements and caissons. Over many years, the company’s team of specialists has built up relevant knowledge and experience and developed systems and processes enabling the company to minimize risks related to immersion operations. This gives the company a unique and leading position in the world. In addition – under the brand name of Geocon – the company designs, installs and operates integrated monitoring systems in civil engineering works.
The company will continue independently as Immontec, led by the existing management. Peter van Westendorp, managing director of Immontec B.V.: “I am glad that Strukton has offered us the opportunity to continue independently. The management has selected the investors with care. They have expressed the confidence and long-term commitment. Since the immersion of the Wijkertunnel (1995), the team has steadily grown and developed into the current organisation, which was involved in a large number of projects worldwide. This is a springboard to the future. We look forward to the future with confidence.”
Strukton Immersion Projects is currently involved in projects including Oosterweel in Antwerp and A281 Weserquerung in Bremen as a specialist subcontractor. The hiving off does not have any effect on the commitment to these projects. The same applies to the monitoring projects of Geocon on the Oosterweel and Hoofdstation Groningen projects.
